The Egypt Marathon is the oldest marathon in Africa and the Middle East, having been held for over 29 years. The course begins beneath the historic temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Luxor and leads participants through ancient sites such as the temple of Habu, the temple of Amenhotep, and the Colossi of Memnon. Runners can choose from several distances: the full marathon, the LuxorRun (22.289 km), the Ramsis Run & Walk (12.336 km), and the Hatshepsut Run & Walk (5 km).
