Marathon Salésien de Parakou

The Salesian Marathon of Parakou is more than just a race; it’s a community-driven sporting event at the heart of Benin. Organized by the Salesian community, it aims to promote access to sports for everyone, with a special focus on the local youth. With about 1,000 participants each year, this intimate event offers several distances to suit all levels: marathon, half-marathon, 10 km, and 5 km.

The course winds through the bustling streets of Parakou, offering runners a vibrant glimpse into the city’s lively atmosphere and Beninese culture. More than a physical challenge, it’s a genuine human experience, where the enthusiasm of the spectators and the warmth of the volunteers make this race truly special.
