Participants of the Prom’Classic in Nice are likely to kick off the year full of new resolutions as they tackle its 10 km route. Since 2000, this event has taken place every early in the year and marks the start of the racing season in France. It’s a must-attend sporting event in Nice, drawing between 8,000 and 10,000 runners.
All athletes head towards the iconic Promenade des Anglais, a stage for outstanding performances. The course is quite flat and fast, making it ideal for setting records. The start line is located near the Théâtre de Verdure and finishes at Parc Phoenix.
During the 2023 edition, over 23 runners crossed the finish line in under 30 minutes, showcasing an impressive pace. However, the Prom’Classic is also perfect for those donning their first race bib. This is why the 10 km offers both timed and non-timed options, welcoming volunteers, experienced or not.
Additionally, in January, the French Riviera enjoys a mild winter climate, making the race very accessible. The course provides stunning views of the Baie des Anges, which is closed to traffic for the occasion. Furthermore, to attest to its quality, the race holds the FFA label. It is listed on the French Athletics Federation calendar and serves as a qualifier for the French championships.
