| Introduction

Running 21.0975 km is already quite something, but 6 half marathons in 5 years? That’s the SuperHalfs challenge. So, what is it all about?

You might have heard of the World Marathon Majors, the six major marathons in the world: Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, and Tokyo. There is a similar circuit for half marathons: the SuperHalfs.

| The story of the SuperHalfs

The SuperHalfs is an international circuit of six prestigious half marathons in Europe, launched in 2022. The goal? To encourage runners worldwide to combine travel and running by participating in the most beautiful 21.1 km races across the continent.

Initially, the circuit included five races, known as SH5:

 Lisbon (EDP Lisbon Half Marathon)

 Prague (Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon)

 Copenhagen (Copenhagen Half Marathon)

 Cardiff (Cardiff Half Marathon)

 Valencia (Valencia Half Marathon)

6 cities
Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Cardiff, Valencia and Berlin
126 km
the total distance for the 6 half marathons.
160000
runners for all 6 races

| The concept of the circuit

In 2024, Berlin joined the circuit, forming now the SH6.

The concept: Participants have 5 years to complete all six races and earn their SuperMedal. Each completed race earns a virtual stamp in a digital passport, encouraging runners to explore these great European cities while taking on a sporting challenge. It’s perfect for those who dream of combining their passion for running and travel.

What sets the SuperHalfs apart: A selection not only based on the event’s fame and size but also on the quality of organization and CSR commitments (such as sustainability, inclusion, etc.). It’s an experience that blends sport, tourism, and personal achievement.

| Circuit details

To participate in the SuperHalfs circuit, it’s best to register directly through each race’s official website. This initial registration activates the “SuperHalfs passport”, a digital document that accompanies you throughout the challenge.

How does it work?

  • Once you register for your first half marathon, your passport is created.
  • For each new race, just use your identification number to record your results and accumulate virtual stamps—proof that you’ve crossed the finish line.
  • The circuit officially starts once you’ve completed your first race.

No specific order! It doesn’t matter which city you start with or the order in which you complete the half marathons. The goal is simple: finish all 6 races within a 5-year period to earn the coveted SuperMedal. For example, if you start with Cardiff in 2024, you’ll have until Cardiff 2029 to complete the remaining five races.

What if the race is full?

No worries! If entries are sold out, you have alternative options to participate:

  • Through a charity (some reserve entries to raise funds).Via a specialized travel agency.
  • If despite all efforts you’re unable to secure an entry, you will need to wait for the next edition.
