Good news at last. After the recent climatic disasters that have left Spain’s third-largest city in mourning, the Valencia Marathon announced publicly on November 15 that the race will proceed as planned.

This is excellent news for the 35,000 runners who will be able to line up at the starting line on Sunday, December 1 (the first wave is scheduled for 8:15 a.m.). The organizers have expressed their commitment beyond athletics, aiming to help Valencia and its province recover from this tragedy. To support these efforts, 3 euros will be donated for every runner that crosses the finish line. A platform has also been established to allow participants to make personal donations. All collected funds will be allocated to one or more projects focused on rebuilding the affected areas.

“The only record we wish to break this year is our solidarity with our community” declared the Valencia Marathon organizers.
